In Lieu of All Things Pink...

If you're female, join the Army of Women.

If you're of the male persuasion, just spread the word.

I have a confession to make, and I think here is the perfect arena to make it in. I am Jen's Aunt and have watched her go through this journey with inner strength, courage, the will to fight with all her might, and still function as normal as possible. I admire her, I am proud of her and so grateful to have her here.
My confession is this, we have lost two women in our family to breast cancer, and every October these pink ribbons would show up, I would feel so much distaste for the whole "awareness" thing. I felt so guilty about how I felt and just silently held in my rage about it. It's NOT CUTE AND PRETTY!
As I read the "pink" blogs Jen has posted, I feel such a sense of relief, like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. It seems every year, like Christmas this "pink" agenda has become more and more commercialized.
Last night I saw a commercial for a Ford dealership using this October awareness month as an add to sell cars???? Well why shouldn't we run down to this dealership and buy a new Ford? they support breast cancer awareness!
I say get rid of the "pink" and yes, find a cure already.
